Mojave: Node JS - [004]

Let's setup Node JS on our macOS Mojave Installation. We'll begin with installing gnupg

Setup gnuPG

brew install gpg

Installing the Keyring

We will also need to install the keyring. If you setup asdf with homebrew use the following.

bash /usr/local/opt/asdf/plugins/nodejs/bin/import-release-team-keyring

If you installed asdf manually use the following

bash ~/.asdf/plugins/nodejs/bin/import-release-team-keyring

Install Node JS

We can view the list of versions of node using

asdf list-all nodejs

We can install node js using

asdf install nodejs 8.12.0 # (use the version you want)

Project Setup

Open a new terminal session and you should be able to initiate a new project using. Do this to make sure node is working.

mkdir somethingcd somethingnpm init

You can also check the node version using

node -v

That's it! You're good to go with node JS on macOS Mojave.
